[ Google ] - Grabs 217 IBM Patents

Google has acquired a cache of over 217 patents from IBM, related to a variety of topics, including instant messaging and mobile technologies. The patents consist of 188 granted patents and 29 that are pending. Update below. Slawsky has trolled the patents, pulling out some that appear to be related to the mobile space. Read more

Google cracks me up with their holier than thou attitude and ‘Do as I say, not as I do’ mentality. They reward websites in the SERPS based on brand recognition and punish any webmaster that tries to promote their site in order to gain visitors. They approve most anyone for adsense only to ban them immediately prior to their first payment being due. They massively punish any site that contains content from other websites, even when full credit and a link to the original source is provided. Read more

[ Google Search ] - Pakistan Occupies Top Slot

With over 20 million internet users and growing fast, Pakistan has managed to secure the number one slot for searching the term ‘sex’ globally for all years. According to a 2010 Fox News report, Pakistan had outranked all countries in Google searches for pornographic terms last year. Narrowing the analytics for the search term to just 2011, Pakistan maintained the number one position, followed by India and Vietnam.
