CDA chairman Son - Law of Jungle

" Yeah Sarak bhi merey baap ki hey aur yeah ghar bhi merey baap ka hey ( The road belongs to my father and the house belongs to him too ) " . You may be thinking that these are the dialogues of a Pakistani or Indian movie of 1970's but guess what these were the words of a young spoiled brat of our CDA chairman.

This happens to be one such incident that was highlighted by media where the offspring of an influential thinks that he/ she is a royalty.Firstly lets examine the incident. There were alot of rules broken at that time. The chairman son assaulted on a young guy infront of the whole market which makes a case against him for assault on life. Then he was found driving a government vehicle which by no means is allowed to be driven by the sons and daughters of government servants . This makes a case against his father. He said all the stuff showing no regard for rule of law and judicial system. This makes a case against him both in courts for inflamating anarchy and disturbing peace of society.

Now let us see the role of law abiding institutions. The police as always remained non responsive and showed the best example of bureaucracy without teeth and back bone. Too much fragile and too much cowardly to question any high up in the food chain because of fear of being suspended , or transfer etc. So they never bothered to stop the boy. Then where are tribunals , NAB and internal checks and balances system to see the wrong use of government resources like the car being driven by the boy. No discretionary authority allows him to drive the government car which can only be used for purpose of government affairs. None pounced at the evidence and why would they. As it is already said in brute raw words by the boy that road belongs to his dad along with the rest of Islamabad. Very pity shameful condition when a mother sees her son being beaten by an influential brat and can't get help from anyone. We used to hear such stories for distant villages but its happening in the heart of the country too. Where is rule of law?

The incident was not an isolated one but it shows our psychology as a nation. Those who reach the top want to squeeze those at the bottom and follow the principle of " Jungle Ka Kanoon ( Forests law )".

I have shared a video footage interview of mother of the guy who was beaten up...It has become viral.

Mirror Mirror on the wall ; am I the ugliest of them all?

We all have heard the famous childhood story of "Snow White and seven dwarfs." The mirror of the story used to tell the evil witch that she was the fairest of them all except telling the truth just once. In our case its opposite way around. Media acts as a mirror and reflects what we are.

In case of Pakistan it appears to reflect only the darker picture and seems to behave as opaque when it comes to good things in our society. Once in a blue moon they show our family bonds , our beautiful lands , our talented youth and other good qualities that can rise our spirits in these difficult times. Russians at the brink of losing second world war to German attack used newspaper the most important way of communication of that time to make glorified heroes in order to lift the spirits of the nation though many falsified ones. It doesn't mean that we should revoke to telling lies but some times its better work for national agenda than just making headlines.

There is a method to reflecting the faults of the society.Parents also reflect our faults but to make us right so that we can become better person and because they care about us.They never lower the child's self confidence nor they degrade him/her infront of others. But our media doesn't do that.It is more interested to sell our bad stuff both internally and externally that it has forgotten the very sense of national spirit.Media acts as the fourth pillar of the state. But how? By highlighting and showing the wrongs and doing a positive debate by intellects and listening to diverse view points and the center should remain the main idea of nation building and making the bond stronger. What our media has done is to highlight the wrongs with intentions to sell it the most which has resulted in further degeneration of national spirit and loss of confidence of the nation over itself even. When a nation loses its confidence then there is no picking it up again. This is how teams lose the matches.

By propagating all the time bad stuff what happens is that everybody loses their trust and hence nobody would want to live here.People get focused on stupid stuff like memo-gate and the real issues like education go at the back door , economy gets hiccups as all investor confidence is shattered , people get psychologically imbalanced , and every body becomes pessimistic towards the future ;thus further exacerbating our situation. Worst of all when we ourselves all the time propagate bad stuff about our country then who would from the world want to invest in our country .No foreign direct investment can be attracted under such conditions because its all about image building in the international arena , no friends can be won in international community and at the end we get isolated and economic melt down follows.

India has similar problems but their every drama ,every movie starts with JEY HIND and propaganda to defame Pakistan.China has all control over its media and none can speak against the state because that creates anarchy.Making the wrongs and wrong policies through positive debate should be the agenda and not to make it a daily selling feature of the channel to degrade your own self....The world isn't simple and their are big gamers out there playing there game with hidden agenda and we need to realize that. Self righteousness media is not liked by anyone. The episode of Maya Khan should have acted as an eye opener.
