CDA chairman Son - Law of Jungle
" Yeah Sarak bhi merey baap ki hey aur yeah ghar bhi merey baap ka hey ( The road belongs to my father and the house belongs to him too ) " . You may be thinking that these are the dialogues of a Pakistani or Indian movie of 1970's but guess what these were the words of a young spoiled brat of our CDA chairman.
This happens to be one such incident that was highlighted by media where the offspring of an influential thinks that he/ she is a royalty.Firstly lets examine the incident. There were alot of rules broken at that time. The chairman son assaulted on a young guy infront of the whole market which makes a case against him for assault on life. Then he was found driving a government vehicle which by no means is allowed to be driven by the sons and daughters of government servants . This makes a case against his father. He said all the stuff showing no regard for rule of law and judicial system. This makes a case against him both in courts for inflamating anarchy and disturbing peace of society.
Now let us see the role of law abiding institutions. The police as always remained non responsive and showed the best example of bureaucracy without teeth and back bone. Too much fragile and too much cowardly to question any high up in the food chain because of fear of being suspended , or transfer etc. So they never bothered to stop the boy. Then where are tribunals , NAB and internal checks and balances system to see the wrong use of government resources like the car being driven by the boy. No discretionary authority allows him to drive the government car which can only be used for purpose of government affairs. None pounced at the evidence and why would they. As it is already said in brute raw words by the boy that road belongs to his dad along with the rest of Islamabad. Very pity shameful condition when a mother sees her son being beaten by an influential brat and can't get help from anyone. We used to hear such stories for distant villages but its happening in the heart of the country too. Where is rule of law?
The incident was not an isolated one but it shows our psychology as a nation. Those who reach the top want to squeeze those at the bottom and follow the principle of " Jungle Ka Kanoon ( Forests law )".
I have shared a video footage interview of mother of the guy who was beaten up...It has become viral.
